Mornings get a lot of attention. A lot of poets and songwriters have written about mornings. Maybe because there’s a different kind of magic in the morning.
My night-shift work was spent staring out the window waiting for that pitch black sky to show the tell-tale signs of that morning blue light.
But to truly be embraced by that indescribable feeling that only the morning possesses, you have to get out in it.
Some of it comes through the window but nothing compares to being outdoors as that first light beams through the trees.
Every camper knows what I mean. Those waking up in hotels only get a sliver of what the morning offers.
But all of us get that sense of a new beginning at the start of the day.
I enjoyed doing the morning radio show with Robin because it put us in the dashboards of commuters in their cars.
It put us into the beginning of their days.
We were part of their morning.
That toxic rat race of morning traffic requires some kind of reprieve....
